In-house development, design and mold making

In-house design is carried out with the CAD-CAM system Delcam. This ensures fast, economical and equally intelligent mold solutions for sophisticated technical plastic parts. The experts also provide in-depth advice to their clients on all mold-related issues prior to implementation. This enables them to jointly develop the best mold package according to economic and also product-specific characteristics. They also have the option of performing part measurement on a high-precision 3D multisensor coordinate measuring machine. The system also allows optical and tactile length and radius measurement. This gives the plastics specialists the opportunity to guarantee their customers the highest level of measurement expertise. In cooperation with the University of Erlangen, for example, the experts can subject particularly demanding finished parts to regular, documented tests on request. These include stress crack tests, for example.

Competence for demanding technical plastic parts

Twelve employees, including trainees, are employed in mold and tool making. Around 40 percent of the tools are produced in-house, 60 percent by external, long-standing and also proven partners. Special features are the HSC milling machine with tool changer, die-sinking EDM machines and wire EDM machines with starting hole, as well as the Delcam-CAM connection. With qualified own employees Wartenfelser realizes assembly groups cost-efficiently in the own house or in cooperation with the Lebenshilfe, which is also located in the building. In the department with the highest turnover, the thermoplastic processing, sophisticated technical plastic parts are produced. Here, 32 modern injection molding machines with a clamping force of 12 to 220 t. with tie bar distances of up to 520 x 520 mm and a shot weight of up to 600 g are available. The highly automated production has CNC-controlled linear robots for part removal, sprue removal equipment, packaging turntables and peripheral equipment such as horizontal conveyor belts. There is also a color dispensing system for masterbatch. Wartenfelser also produces a great many parts with injected threaded bushings made of brass or stainless steel.
